Housing and Meals

Housing
When studying abroad quality housing is the first step toward a meaningful experience, hence our effort to provide EUS students with the best housing options possible. We do request that participants send in their housing preferences along with their applicationb so as to assure that students will receive their desired option.

Apartments
Life with a Italian student is the best way to get to know modern Italian language and culture while interacting with other Italian students. We do our best to match EU StudyAbroad students with Italian students based upon age, fields of interest, and common hobbies such as sports. There is the possibility of being housed with a minimum of one and a maximum of three Italian students. In a similar manner it is possible for two EU StudyAbroad students to share housing along with one or two Italian students.

To ensure a good match between EUS students and their Italian roommates, a series of interviews will be organized onsite when students arrive in France. Students will stay in a temporary housing before they choose their apartment with Italian students.

The confirmation deadline for this option is three months prior to the program start date. After that date this option is available on a first come, first serve basis. The apartments are located in the downtown Tours area or fairly close to it. A key will be made available and there is no curfew.

Homestay with an Italian Family
Students can choose to live with an Italian host family. One of the best ways to become familiar with the everyday Italian way of life and to obtain a greater understanding of Italian culture is to stay with one of our carefully selected host families. These families are considerate and caring and all share the same passion of introducing study abroad students to Italian culture, tradition, and way of life. In most cases there will only be there will be at least 4 to 5 students per host family. Each student will have a private bedroom, full access to a bathroom, and limited access to the kitchen. A key will also be made available to the student so he/she may come and go at will, although we do request that the student let the family know of his/her whereabouts. There is no curfew.

MEALS
Breakfast and dinner are included with a home-stay. Meals are not included with housing in an apartment.
