What Makes Grenoble Special

I've definitely discovered my favourite thing about France. No, it's not the bread, nor the pain au chocolat (though that comes a close second), and definitely not the smoking...nope, it's the mountains. I love these grand masses of snow. They surround me here...every way I look I see mountains, and I couldn't be happier about this.

Not only are the Alps everywhere, but getting to them and snowboarding on them couldn't be easier! I have a list of 13 mountains, all within about an hour, that I can take busses to daily! And, get this, the lift tickets are as little as 2 euros per hour. That's about 14 euros per day...un bon marché! Since everyone uses public transportation here, it's a common sight to see people in the tram or walking around the streets carrying their skis, fully outfitted in ski suits, ski boots (yes, in the city), gloves, and goggles. What a great place!
