The Certificate in Business Studies (CBS)
In order to obtain the Certificate in Business Studies, students must complete five modules and a module of Foreign language (French for non-French speakers) in the Fall semester.

Students who obtain the CBS may register for the CIB in the Spring to obtain a BIB.

Participants' Profile
Students must be either

  1. In their junior year at a US university studying abroad in order to earn credit towards their degree and obtain a dual qualification.
  2. An international students with a two-year diploma.
    Junior managers who are presently working and wish to have an insight into international business without committing themselves to a longer program

Program Organization
The program runs in the Fall semester the Certificate in International Business and over two semesters for the Bachelor in International Business. Students may begin the program in either January or September. The fall semester goes from mid-September to the end of December. Examinations take place at the end of the semester. The teaching style is very interactive and students have plenty of opportunities to make presentations and do group work in multicultural teams which provides a stimulating learning environment. Upon registration students will be advised which courses they should follow depending on their profile.

Eligibility
All students must be fluent in English. Students from all backgrounds can apply apply. Students whose native language is not English, must provide a recommendation from a qualified English instructor confirming their ability to complete the Certificate's program in English and an accepted English language test score. No English language classes will be provided. No prior knowledge of the French language is necessary. Admission is subject to the number of places available. It is advisable to apply as early as possible. Applications and selection are on a rolling basis.

  1. The content of the program may be adapted from year to year to take into account the needs of industry.
  2. Some modules may be compulsory depending on the students background/profile and future study plans.

Foreign Languages
Foreign language skills are an asset in the international business environment therefore a foreign language module is an integral part of the program for all students. Non-French speakers will study French (beginners to advanced). Fluent French speakers will choose another language depending on their level. The language tuition is supplemented by a program of language laboratory workshops.

The Faculty
Classes are taught by both Groupe ESC Grenoble faculty and business professionals who link theory and practice. They all contribute to the international dimension of the program through their diverse cultural and international backgrounds.

Credit Value
All courses are 3 US credit hours each. Students will be awarded either the Certificate in Business Studies upon successful completion of the required courses.

Credit Transfer
The courses offered have been approved by several American AACSB accredited business schools for credit transfer at the undergraduate level. Official transcripts will be sent to the student's home university for transfer of credit.

Note: Students should be sure to obtain approval from their academic advisors for the transfer of credit from Groupe ESC Grenoble prior to applying to the program. Have your advisor contact the program director for further details. Both the Certificate in International Business and the Bachelor in International Business are open to international students who wish to complete an undergraduate program in France.
