Proud of its history and with its traditional ways deeply rooted in these present days, Aix-En-Provence is a city bound for the future with arms wide open. Town of water, town of art... Everyone knows that Aix was built and has developed around this dual identity. But the town also knows how to blend different eras and culture. Open to the world, it is a city of human dimension where the preserved heritage and the city of tomorrow blend perfectly. Here, all is colour and sensation: the light of the sky, the golden stone of the facades, the transparent green of the fountains, the shade of the plane trees, surprises held by the festival nights...

Historic Aix-En-Provence
From the Celto-Ligurian Oppidum of Entremont to the new Sextius-Mirabeau Quarter, with the City of Counts and the many mansions of the Mazarin Quarter, Aix-en-Provence is a living history book. Rich and alive with a heritage thousands of years old, the Capital of Provence combines elements from all times.

Modern Aix-En-Provence
A tour of Aix en Provence is a chance to travel in time. Its architectural and cultural heritage is accessible to everyone, treasures that you will discover simply by walking around the town.

"Collections of works are more necessary than isolated masterpieces, because they enrich people's everyday lives. Aix is a collection."

Fernand Pouillon
