The Institute
Founded in 1953, the Institut d'Etudes Françaises pour Etudiants Etrangers, or Institute of French Studies for Foreign students, is a higher education establishment which is part of the
Paul Cézanne university, and welcomes students from all over the world.

During the university year, its students follow French language, French literature and French civilization courses that will enable them to master written and spoken French. They are awarded certificates at the end of each semester and a Diploma at the end of a complete university year. During the intensive course, students follow an accelerated learning French language course adapted to their level and run by Professors associated with the Institute.

The Institute of French Studies for Foreign students has been a teaching centre for French Studies since its foundation in 1953. In this harmonious site, you will discover the French language, literature, culture and society. The courses are exclusively designed for foreign students. The teaching methods are particularly adapted to an international audience, in accordance with the European directives on the teaching of Foreign Languages.

The Institute is also a resources center for teachers of French as a Foreign Language, and its function is to provide training and perfecting of linguistic abilities in French as a scientific and cultural means of communication. It has become an ideal portal to graduate studies in France.
